Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Overweight double, lots of damage, no feedback.

I hired this company because I have limited time for moving, they provide me reasonable rate. Every item was raped by myself, and all box had a label like Fragile.. It toke 45 min to load their track, but they handled our stuff like garbage. I gave them nice tip in that hope, they will take care of it. I called the company since Tuesday-my moving date, and only Friday afternoon had an answer about a weight-which was over estimated for 4820 Lbs. I have only staff from 1 bedroom condo, lots of boxes, but I estimated all my furniture weight from brochures, and I scaled actually after when they unloaded. The approximately weight was 2340 Lbs, max 2500!! They charged me a full amount, even I request a rescale before they unload. At Friday afternoon no one picked up the phone, one guy tried to reach me, he called me once, and I called back right away, and no answer.. He told me Monday morning at 8.55, he tried many times even Sunday,-but I left a message on a voicemail, during my ride between Calgary and Vancouver probably I have no service. Anyway, my phone always receive a message from missed calls. Guess what? no message.. So Monday when I tried to reach the company since 8 am, no answer, 8:55 finally I reached him, and he told me his offer, if I want to rescale the load again. The track was here already, the driver was pushy, and ordered me to pay right away, otherwise they have to go back, and they will charge me more.. The offer was, if I want to rescale the company will charge me $400 just to unload, load to container, and load again into the truck. So I had 1 minute to decide to risk $400 more, or take their offer, and lose my money. .. They start unload, and most of the large items are broken, including our Dresser, all tables, mirror, pictures, bike, and OEM alloy wheels. I wont mention all fragile signed box underneath the heavy boxes,(books), a bottle of wine, a large plate and lots of small thing was broken. Almost every item has a damage because poor handling. They were bringing up 1 unknown luggage, even every item had a sticker with number. Our fitness ball was stubbed, because it use less space.. I had a conversation with a very nice representative, he promised me many things, I sent a list of damaged items, and picture as proof. Nothing happened so far, no feedback, no call nothing. The GUY name is sam-I cannot use smaller font to write his name. I have all our conversation recorded, and probably he has power in his hand, to cover this case. I hope I can help to chose a right movers for most of the audience. please do not deal with this company, seams nice before contract, but trust me, it is worth it to pay for the company, who handle your property like their own. If you need more information, please white here, and I will contact you.

Long-distance move from Manitoba to Alberta

Unethical and unprofessional.

Do not get taken in, as we did, by their promises of low shipping rates! Across Canada Van Lines (Movers) is extremely unprofessional and unethical. We figure we paid, when the furniture arrived (2 weeks late), as much as $300. more than we should have. But, the company has refused to provide proof of weight despite their agent's promises. Even worse, the leg of our heirloom dining room table was broken en route (repair, now completed, cost us, in addition to aggravation, $200.). Instead of offering monies to repair the damage, instead of providing proof of weight, the company responded to our concerned phone calls and e-mails by referring us to a Customer Services Agent who offered us, first, $50., then $75., based on an inane weight-based formula (they made no mention of compensation for the damages), which would prove our contention that they overcharged us. So, we are forced to conclude, not only is Across Canada Van Lines unprofessional and unethical, but also, its staff is not very bright. More evidence of lack of ethics: 1) they have placed the logo of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce on their email communications when they are not members!; 2) their cut-and-paste emails discuss compensation for "missing" items when we have never claimed that any were! Steer clear of Across Canada Van Lines (Movers)! .

International move from , BC to , FL

My expensive kitchen stuff just happened to not show up (Bribers).

I just moved from Vancouver, Canada to open my companies new restaurant in Orlando. Before I went to Orlando I was sent by my company to Miami first for 6 weeks first to help at our restaurant there and than officially moved to Orlando on June 1st. Back home my parents had shipped 21 boxes of my personal belongings to my new residence in Orlando. The 21 boxes where shipped on May 20th 2016. When my stuff arrived on June 13th 2016 the box count was only 19. When I asked the driver if their were anymore boxes he said that was all he had. I first figured perhaps my parents condensed some boxes but after I received all my stuff I noticed that my expensive Meat Slicer that was given to me by my deceased Grandfather was missing and 7 of my Culinary Cook Books that were given to me from family and Chefs I had worked with in the industry, I first called the companies front desk and they told me I had to contact the warehouse that only has an email address and no phone number, I emailed them and they responded to me saying they would look for my belongings and I described to them everything that was in the boxes I let it go by for a week hoping for a response and got nothing than I reached out to them again asking if they found my stuff and replied offering me $25.00!! as a "We are sorry we lost/stole your stuff" If I accepted the $25.00 that would mean I could not write a negative review, take legal action or contact the Better Business Bureau. I emailed them back in complete insult that they thought $25.00 would solve them losing prized posessions given to me from family, especially my grandfathers meat slicer. They than came back and offered me $50.00!! The total cost of everything in those boxes was just over $1000.00!! and had sentimental value to me. I than asked them for clarity on the matter or else I would contact BBB and than after a couple days they just never responded. I paid this company over $3000.00!! to move not some of my stuff but ALL of my stuff. It is a little ironic that my two boxes that have some very expensive cooking supplies and books in them just happened to go missing. This company has taken no accountability or responsibility for losing/stealing my things. They tried to bribe me to keep my mouth shut about my experience and I cannot allow any other person to go through the same experience I have gone through with this company. I trusted them with my belongings and they clearly after I paid them didn't give a care in the world about what happened to my personal belongings. I cannot describe how upset I am especially knowing the had my grandfathers meat slicer taken from me and there is nothing I can do about it. This is not the way to treat anyone who pays a company to do the job they say they will do. -- .

Long-distance move from Richmond Hill, ON to Vancouver, BC

Please DO NOT use this company !

From start to finish, my experience moving 15 x pieces from Toronto to Vancouver was terrible - rude drivers & packers, unprofessional, unreasonable .. bordering on being a scam artist-they would not release the packages before I paid them the higher amount (Almost x 2 than quoted). Then they charged me 3% for using VISA - never mentioned in their quote or ANY communications. Tried to contact senior manager/CEO but personnel won't release name or contact information. See my full review on YELP. This company should not be in business!

Long-distance move from Alberta to Ontario

Worst service ever!

To all who read this message, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR MOVING!

I contacted this company to transport my goods and car from Edmonton to Ottawa.  My goods were picked up on 7th of August 2013 and my car was picked up on 8th of August 2013 by another company through this Across Canada Van Lines.

Luckily my car was picked up and delivered by another company, which arrived in Ottawa within reasonable 2 weeks.

As my goods, picked up from Edmonton on 7th of August till today, 7th of September, 31 days later.. it is still on the way to Toronto, "Toronto", not on the way to Ottawa.  Of course, this company will tell you that they only have station in Toronto, and your goods will be sent from Toronto to Ottawa.  But the point is 31 days since it is still on the way, plus another 1 day, 32 days, from Edmonton to Toronto.  If a bicycle travels in the speed of 40km/hr, 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week, this bicycle has arrived Ottawa long ago.

The reason shipment was delayed?  They told me that the truck some how went to north Manitoba and got delayed.  This delay took about 2 weeks.  For these 14 days, I called them almost every second day.  And guess what, the truck was in Manitoba for 14 days till now, it is still "ON THE WAY" to Toronto.

The problem of this company does not end here, delay is one of the major thing, here is more..

Communication; I was told, and it is written on their website from Vancouver to Toronto, 14 days.  Well, for me that is a big untrue story.  From the beginning, no one tell me the details of how my things is going to be shipped, all they told me was it will be there.  As written on Across Canada Van line website home page; I did not learn the details until 2 weeks after they picked up my goods.  Furthermore, although my car was handled by another company (thank god it was another company) but through Across Canada Van Line, I had to do their job and call, schedule the delivery myself.  This is not the worst.. after the major delay (31 days later) I finally got in touch with their Operation Manager who was to be claimed by their own staff that is responsible for the delay of my goods.  This Manager told me, another untrue story again that my goods are already in Toronto and asked me to contact them myself.  "Why am I doing your job?"  I asked, he still refused to call and contact, thus I contact this company in Toronto who should have my shipment and found out this was just another lie.  The Operation Manager of Across Canada Van Line L I E to me that my goods is already in Toronto but yet, it is still on the way.. where?  I don’t know!

Service; since now, there is no service of this company what so ever.  I made all the phone calls, chasing them day after day.  The staff from this company all the way to the Operation Manager are all with bad attitude.  Since the pick up of my goods, this company has never I mean "NEVER" contact me by themselves providing information.  And from their attitude, I think they don’t care at all..

L I E S after L I E S;  every week, they told me "it will be there by the end of this week, and they will contact you next week.", well, it has been 3 weeks already hearing the same story..
This is not the worst yet.  On the day my car arrived in Ottawa, I had to pay first.  However, I was L I E D by their staff that my goods will arrive next week and to avoid to do the payment twice, they tricked me to pay them.  Now 3 weeks after I paid, still waiting, still nothing.

After the major delay and bad service, all they did was "I apologize for this" and nothing more.. me and my family have been eating on the floor, one of my kid's document is in the box thus late to school, and extra money spending on clothing, medicine, and things to get my life going.  "I apologize for this"  does not help at all, and I do not accept this kind of apology.

Do not use this company, it will only make everything from good to worst.  People must know about this that they need to change or they should stay out of business.  I will also bring this to the press in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa. .

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Terrible move.

The movers arrived with an old unmarked truck. They were not prepared to pack anything, even though I had arranged for full packing. I had to take the driver to a place where he could pick up packing material. The people doing the pickup were not very professional. The move was from Victoria, BC to Cochrane, AB, and it took them 2 weeks to finally deliver, for a cost of $4,429.00. My furniture was actually loaded and unloaded 4 times. First to a storage facility in Rchmond, BC, where it sat for a week, then to a facility in Calgary, then to a truck for delivery which broke down and finally to a rented UHaul for delivery in Cochrane. All this loading and unloading resulted in the loss of a valuable dining room chair and the virtual destruction of a bookcase. When I put in a claim they offered me $50.00 if I would refrain from giving them a bad review, which I declined. Don't be fooled by their ads, this is a very poor company to deal with.

Long-distance move from Edmonton, AB to London, ON

Do NOT use this company.

I hired this moving company on short notice due to having to move within 2 weeks. When they first came to pick up my shipment, the man was asking me for cash so he would not charge me extra on my bill for packaging and stair charge. Also, asking me to leave my house while he was there to go to the bank and get him cash.

He charged me for my staircase which I was aware of.

The shipment took almost 2 months to arrive at my house. The day before it was to arrive, I was notified that my shipment weighed twice what it was originally estimated at. I calculated all my items and I could still not seem to comprehend how it could weigh so much.

I was told that my shipment was already loaded on the truck and that if I wanted it to be rescaled, I would have to pay $300.00 extra.

I paid the $1728.57 because I did not want to be charged even more!

When the shipment arrived, I was notified that my 4 tires and rims had not been delivered. My father loaded all the items that had arrived onto a trailer and took it to an industrial scale where the total weight came to 700lbs. My dad then took tires and rims similar to the ones I had and it came to 43lbs per tire/rim combo. He also took pictures of the entire process.

In total, my entire shipment should have came to 900lbs or less, not 1422lbs as the moving company’s scale weighed it as.

I finally received my tires after many calls going nowhere, finally getting my dad to call because they were obviously scamming at 20 year old female.

My dad and I have been calling to be reimbursed for the overcharged but the manager keeps telling us “our work against yours”. We took pictures of the whole process.

I am very displeased with my experience and service.

This company is a huge scam and needs to be shut down!
